Jeffrey P. Klug is a Director in Ocean Tomo’s Expert Testimony practice and is based in the firm’s Chicago office. Mr. Klug’s consulting experience includes the quantification of economic damages in disputes involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, false marking, and false advertising. Representative case experience spans a broad array of industries including automotive, aviation, biotechnology, computer software, construction materials, consumer products, electronics, finance, internet services, medical devices, paper, pharmaceuticals, and power tools.

Mr. Klug conducts complex financial analyses and creates damages models addressing lost sales, lost profits, reasonable royalties, unjust enrichment, commercial success, irreparable harm, incremental profits, price erosion, and prejudgment interest. Mr. Klug has drafted expert reports reflecting professional opinions in these areas on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in state court, federal court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and at arbitration. Further, his background encompasses assisting counsel at all stages of litigation, including drafting discovery requests and responses, analyzing financial issues, developing case strategies, participating in witness depositions, and compiling demonstrative exhibits for trial.

Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, Mr. Klug provided consulting services to clients involved in commercial disputes as a Manager at Davis & Hosfield Consulting LLC. In addition to intellectual property matters, he has direct experience in disputes involving breach of implied warranty, breach of contract, promissory estoppel, equity valuation, and class actions.

As a Woodruff Scholar at Emory University, Mr. Klug received a dual B.A. in Economics and Psychology, captained the Swimming and Diving team, earned three NCAA Academic All-American distinctions, and was awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. He later earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, with concentrations in Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Finance. Mr. Klug is a member of the Licensing Executive Society, an associate member of the American Bar Association, and serves on the Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo.
